CHEEER’s Community Based Research Network Manuscript Recently Published

Congratulations to CHEEER faculty and the Community Based Research Network (CBRN) Members on their recent publication. Nurturing academics’ and communities’ capacity to conduct community-engaged research holds great promise for effectively addressing health disparities. However, how to best support collaborations beyond individual projects and across an entire community is unclear. It is upon this crux that the CBRN was established. The submission was for a manuscript of a study that described the development and structure of the CBRN itself. It examined the experiences of academic investigators and community members with the CBRN and highlights lessons learned. The manuscript, titled “Planting the Seeds for Building Research Capacity in Communities: Experiences of a Community-Based Research Network,” is being published in the Progress in Community Health Partnerships: Research, Education, and Action Journal (John Hopkins University Press).
