About the Trainer: Dr. Christina Antenucci is board certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She works at MetroHealth Medical Center as the Assistant Program Director of Medication Assisted Treatment, Assistant Program Director for the Addiction Medicine Fellowship, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at Case Western and Northeast Ohio Schools of Medicine.

  • Describe Substance Use Disorder (SUD) as a common and undertreated illness
  • Describe the Chronic Disease Model of Addiction
  • Identify stigma as a barrier to treatment
  • Recognize what language to use and what to avoid when discussing addiction

About the Trainer: James Campbell, MD, MS, is a Cleveland native and completed
undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan Honors College. He received his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati and followed with a residency in family medicine and fellowship in geriatrics at Case Western Reserve University,
University Hospitals of Cleveland, and the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veteran’s Administration Medical Center. He has a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology and Statistics from the University of Michigan. At MetroHealth, he led the development of a geriatrics program and was appointed Chair of Family Medicine in 1999 until 2010. He was named Director, Geriatric Center at the Senior Health & Wellness Center. Dr. Campbell was a Professor of Family Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Chair of Geriatrics, the Co-Medical Director of MetroHealth’s Accountable Care Organization and the Medical Director of the Jennings Center for Older Adults in Garfield Heights, Ohio before retiring in 2024.

  • Explain how CHWs can support patients with dementia and the teams that manage these patients
