Mental Health Needs and Service Delivery Capacity for Refugees Living in Cuyahoga County, Ohio: An Analysis and Recommendations
Concerned about inadequately treated mental illness within refugee populations in Greater Cleveland, the Refugee Services Collaborative (RSC), with funding support from the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Cuyahoga County, contracted with the Case Western Reserve University Center for Health Equity Engagement Education and Research to assess refugee mental health needs, and based on that assessment, to make recommendations for improving access to effective care. CHEEER Completes Five-Year Community Research Scholar Initiative
With funding support from the National Institutes of Health, the Case Western Center for Health Equity Engagement Education and Research—a partnership between Case Western Reserve University and MetroHealth Systems launched CRSI in 2011 as a multi-year training, mentoring, and research development effort that partnered directly with social service agencies confronting health disparities among northeast Ohio residents.
