We work with community members, community organizations and government agencies to develop and coordinate efforts to reduce health disparities. Past and ongoing efforts include:
- A collaboration with our local poison control center on a project to enhance lead poison screening by providers practicing in inner city neighborhoods with the highest prevalence of lead poisoning.
- Partnering to make healthy eating and active living a part of the culture and everyday living in the Buckeye, Larchmere and Woodland Hills neighborhoods.
- Training community residents who are interested in becoming researchers and participating in active research studies.
