We function as a catalyst for research and collaboration among Center and affiliated faculty, community organizations, and government agencies. Past and current efforts include:
- Multiple NIH-funded projects to understand and address health disparities related to hypertension, kidney disease, and organ transplantation in greater Cleveland.
- An NIH/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded project to determine the effects of a video intervention on signing organ donor cards by minorities.
- Project HYPE, designed to engage patients with hypertension in dialogue about their illness through the use of Photo Voice methods.
- An NIH funded project designed to train kidney transplant recipients to guide patients through the transplant process.
